A cheap school pen made by Parker but not sold under the Parker brand name. Similar to the earlier Parkettes and Challengers of the 1930's. Since it's a lever filler it's possible that Parker decided not to be tied to a pen that was not an aerometric filler, a filling system that was much advertised during this period.

The gold fill was very thin and the underlaying brass is usually what remains. It has a standard nib and a tapered clip with the imprint "Writefine". Much like the Parker VS of the same period. Parker didn't produce any lever fillers until 1952, with the re-introduction of the (new) Parkette. Neither the Writefine, nor the Parkette survived for more than a year or so.
